THE GRUFFALO BOOK REVIEW
The Gruffalo is a modern classic kids book series.
The book feature a wily, canny muse walking through the woods, trying to avoid being eaten by all the other animals. He encounters a snake, a fox and a snake. He tells each of them that they should leave him alone because of his big scary monster of a friend – The Grufalo. Then he actually meets the Gruffalo…and to avoid being eaten tells the Gruffalo that he (the mouse) is the scariest of all creatures. he then leads the unbelieving Gruffalo back through the forest where they encounter the snake, fox and owl again, each of which runs off at the site of the Gruffalo.
The Gruffalo book features a rhyming prose and charming illustrations – it is a very compelling book for children to read, but also for parents to read to their children, especially at bedtime. We suspect a few parents out there may have threatened naughty children with The Gruffalo at some point in time!
WHO’S IT FOR: Ages 3 and up should be able to enjyo The Gruffalo, clearly younger children will need help with words/reading though.
THE TOY VERDICT: This is a must have classic. Every child should own this book!
