The Very Hungry Caterpillar
THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR BOOK REVIEW
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a must have classic book for every child.
Ever since this book was released back in the 1960’s generation after generation of children and their parents have enjoyed this timeless classic!
The premise/story of the book is very simple – a caterpillar becomes very hungry and eats his way through pretty much anything he can get his hands on before emerging as a beautiful butterfly! The book features various images of food the caterpilar has eaten through. Each food item has a hole punched through showing where the caterpillar has eaten, this novel feature is actually quote a big part of the success of this book, as it becomes more than just a flat book of pages, but becomes more of a tactile play thing in itself!
Children and parents have enjoyed bedtime stories with The Very Hungry Caterpillar for decades, and there’s every reason to think that they will continue to do so going forward!
WHO’S IT FOR: The publisher’s recommended age range is 2 years to 4 years. Clearly parents will need to help children with the reading, but kids will often enjoy looking through the pictures poking at the holes in the food!
THE TOY VERDICT: This is a must have classic book for all kids.
